Instructions

  1. Start boiling a large pot of water.

  2. In a saucepan, combine butter, sesame powder, sugar, and rice wine over low heat until well-mixed.

  3. Remove the mixture from heat and cool completely; freeze for 15-20 minutes if necessary.

  4. Form the cooled mixture into small 1-teaspoon balls.

  5. Combine sticky rice flour with water, adding it gradually, to create a smooth, pliable dough resembling modeling clay.

  6. Take a golf-ball sized piece of dough, roll it, and make a deep indentation with your thumb.

  7. Insert a sesame ball into the indentation, seal the dough securely around it, and smooth any seams. Repeat for all dumplings.

  8. Cook dumplings in boiling water on medium-high heat, stirring until they float to the surface.

  9. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking for one additional minute.

  10. Remove cooked dumplings with a slotted spoon, blot them on a towel, transfer to a platter, and serve.
