Instructions

  1. Fill a 1-quart jar with cherries, then cover them with sugar without stirring.

  2. Slowly add spirits or vodka until the jar is almost full, ensuring cherries remain covered without stirring.

  3. Seal the jar tightly and store it at room temperature in a dark place for three months.

  4. Strain the nalewka, rebottle it, and serve immediately or age it further.
