Instructions

  1. Melt wafers or almond bark in a bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth, or microwave for 45-60 seconds, stirring every 15 seconds. Repeat this process for multiple colors if desired.

  2. If the melted coating is too thick, gradually add about 1/2 teaspoon of shortening at a time until a good dipping consistency is reached.

  3. Lay out wax paper or parchment paper on a surface.

  4. Dip each sandwich cookie into the melted coating, tap off excess with a fork, and place it onto the prepared paper.

  5. Decorate cookies with sprinkles while the coating is still wet, or let them dry thoroughly before drizzling with additional melted coatings.
