Western Ham and Egg Casserole

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Butter a 2-quart baking dish.

  3. Cut bread into small cubes, removing crusts.

  4. Layer bread cubes in the dish, then top with cheddar cheese, ham, onion, and green bell pepper.

  5. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

  6. Pour egg mixture over the layers, then cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.

  7. Before baking, remove the casserole from the refrigerator and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.

  8. Uncover and bake for 40 minutes, or until set.
