Water Chestnut Appetizer Recipe

An easy appetizer features bacon-wrapped water chestnuts marinated in soy sauce and rolled in brown sugar.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  2. Rinse and peel fresh water chestnuts, or rinse and drain canned ones.

  3. Soak water chestnuts in soy sauce for 2.5 hours.

  4. Remove water chestnuts from soy sauce, roll in brown sugar, wrap each with bacon, and secure with a toothpick.

  5. Place wrapped water chestnuts on a rack in a shallow pan; bake for 30 minutes, turning once, or broil for 5-6 minutes.
