Vruca Rakija is a traditional hot plum brandy drink enjoyed during Serbian Christmas Eve.

Instructions

In a medium pot, melt sugar, stirring occasionally, until it caramelizes to a brown color without burning.

Carefully remove from heat, add plum brandy and water, then return to heat.

Stir constantly until the mixture boils and all sugar is dissolved, watching closely to prevent boil-over.
