Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat; sauté onion, carrot, celery, and garlic for 7 minutes until softened.

  2. Stir in tomatoes and torn basil leaves.

  3. Simmer the sauce for 1 hour until reduced and thickened, stirring occasionally and reducing heat if needed.

  4. Lightly blend the sauce for some texture. Stir in salt, butter, cream, and vodka until well combined; the sauce will turn orange.
