Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F and start boiling water.

  2. Melt sugar with water in a skillet over medium heat, stirring until golden brown.

  3. Pour hot caramel into the mold, swirling to coat the bottom and sides.

  4. Whisk together eggs, condensed milk, whole milk, vanilla, and salt until well mixed, then pour the mixture into the mold.

  5. Place the mold in a tall-sided pan, then fill the surrounding pan with boiling water for a bain marie.

  6. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the flan comes out clean.

  7. Serve warm or cold.
