Vegetarian Thai Steamed Dumplings with Shiitake Mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Thaw dumpling wrappers for 2 hours and banana leaves for 30 minutes.

  2. Start boiling water for steaming and line a steamer with 1-2 layers of banana leaf.

  3. Process all filling ingredients in a food processor until finely chopped.

  4. Arrange 6 wrappers on a clean surface with a small bowl of water for sealing.

  5. Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper, then moisten the edges with water.

  6. Fold wrapper sides over the filling, press to seal, and pinch the seam.

  7. Place finished dumplings on a floured plate; steam immediately or refrigerate up to 3 hours.

  8. Steam dumplings in the prepared steamer over high heat for 15-20 minutes until cooked.

  9. Serve with soy sauce and chili sauce.
