Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease two baking sheets.

  2. Combine flour, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, baking soda, and pepper.

  3. Beat vegan margarine, brown sugar, and molasses with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

  4. Mix in egg replacer and vanilla until well combined.

  5. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients until the dough is combined and crumbly.

  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared sheets; do not flatten.

  7. Bake for 13-15 minutes, until cookies just begin to crack.

  8. Cool the cookies, then roll them in confectioners' sugar until fully coated.
