Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.

  2. Warm nondairy milk, then combine with yeast in a large bowl and rest for 5 minutes until frothy.

  3. Cream 1/3 cup margarine, sugar, and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and flour, then knead for 8 minutes.

  4. Form the dough into a ball, place in a greased bowl, and let rise in a warm location for 1 hour.

  5. On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 16x20-inch rectangle.

  6. Whisk together brown sugar, cinnamon, and 1/3 cup margarine until fluffy for the filling, then spread evenly over the dough.

  7. Roll the dough tightly lengthwise into a 20-inch log and cut into approximately 12 pieces.

  8. Place slices in a 9x13-inch baking pan, cover loosely, and let rise for 30 minutes.

  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are dark golden brown.

  10. Prepare icing by whisking vegan cream cheese, 1/4 cup margarine, confectioner's sugar, vanilla, and water until fluffy.

  11. Remove rolls from the oven, immediately invert onto a clean sheet, then cool for 10 minutes before spreading the icing. Serve warm.
