Prepare an ice bath in a pan suitable for a small saucepan.

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine non-dairy milk, sugar, maple syrup, soy margarine, vanilla, and salt.

Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes, or until medium amber in color.

Immediately submerge the saucepan in the ice bath to stop the cooking process.
