Serbian Turkish-style coffee, or Turska Kafa, is a traditional Eastern European beverage prepared using a djezva or stovetop coffee pot.

Instructions

  1. Start boiling cold water and sugar in a djezva or stovetop coffee pot.

  2. Pour a portion of the boiling sugar water into a demitasse cup.

  3. Stir ground coffee into the pot; return it to a boil.

  4. Remove the pot from heat, add the reserved sugar water, cover with a saucer, and steep for 30 seconds.

  5. Pour coffee into two demitasse cups for immediate serving, or present the djezva at the table.
