Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a pan; let it bubble for a few minutes.

  2. Add cornmeal, stirring continuously until golden brown and butter oil separates.

  3. Pour in water and bring the mixture to a boil.

  4. Slowly incorporate grated cheese, stirring until completely melted and smooth.

  5. Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, until butter appears on the surface.

  6. Serve immediately with bread.
