Instructions

  1. Start boiling 9 cups of water in a saucepan.

  2. Combine 3/4 cup medium to coarse ground coffee, 1/4 cup water, and 1 large egg in a bowl.

  3. Once water boils, add the coffee-egg mixture, then simmer for 3 minutes over low heat, ensuring it doesn't boil over.

  4. When grounds bind and float, remove from heat.

  5. Stir in 1 cup cold water and let sit for 10 minutes to allow grounds to settle.

  6. Strain the settled coffee into cups and serve.
