Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and butter a large gratin dish.

  2. In a medium saucepan, sauté onion in olive oil for 5 minutes. Add flour and sauté for 30 seconds. Stir in salt, pepper, sage, and milk, cooking for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  3. Stir broccoli and cheese into the sauce, bring to a simmer, then transfer to the prepared gratin dish.

  4. Combine melted butter, bread crumbs, and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese; sprinkle over the gratin.
