Traditional Alaskan Rose Hip Simple Syrup

Instructions

  1. Wash rose hips thoroughly, removing stems and flower remnants.

  2. Boil the prepared rose hips with water in a covered saucepan for 20 minutes.

  3. Strain the boiled rose hips through a jelly bag, returning the clear liquid to the saucepan.

  4. Add sugar to the liquid, stir well, and boil for 5 minutes until dissolved and thickened.

  5. Refrigerate the cooled syrup in an airtight container.
