Toasted Cumin Yogurt Dip

Instructions

  1. If using whole cumin seeds, toast them in a hot pan for one minute until fragrant, then transfer to cool. Mince the garlic.

  2. Combine yogurt, sour cream (if using), minced garlic, salt, cayenne, and ground cumin (or grind the toasted seeds and add 1/2 teaspoon) in a medium bowl; stir thoroughly.

  3. Chill the dip for at least one hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

  4. Serve cold with cut vegetables or crackers, garnished with olive oil or whole cumin seeds if desired.
