The Best Peppermint Bark

An easy-to-make Christmas classic, peppermint bark combines dark chocolate, white chocolate, and crisp candy cane pieces.

Instructions

  1. Crush 8 peppermint candy canes into small pieces.

  2. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.

  3. Melt 12 ounces of dark chocolate and spread it onto the prepared sheet to an even 1/8-inch thickness.

  4. Refrigerate the dark chocolate layer to firm.

  5. While chilling, melt 12 ounces of white chocolate and stir in most of the crushed candy canes, reserving about one-quarter.

  6. Remove the sheet, spread the white chocolate mixture over the firm dark chocolate, and sprinkle the reserved candy canes on top, pressing lightly.

  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until completely set.

  8. Break the bark into uneven pieces.
