Instructions

  1. Prepare fresh fruit by peeling, de-stemming, or seeding as required, then combine 1 cup fruit, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1/3 cup water in a pot and bring to a boil.

  2. While simmering, smash the fruit and continue cooking for approximately 10 minutes, or until the mixture reaches a syrupy consistency.

  3. For a thin syrup, press the mixture through a strainer; for a thicker syrup, process it in a food processor.
