Thanksgiving Sesame Seed White Bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine water and yeast.

  3. Mix in sugar, butter, and salt.

  4. Incorporate 3 cups of bread flour, then gradually add more until a dough forms.

  5. Knead dough on a floured surface for 8 minutes until soft and smooth.

  6. Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat, then cover.

  7. Allow dough to rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until doubled.

  8. Punch down dough and knead again for 8 minutes to remove bubbles.

  9. Divide dough into two equal portions; shape into loaves and place in greased 8x4-inch pans.

  10. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes, or until doubled.

  11. Brush loaves with egg white and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  12. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.

  13. Cool baked loaves on a rack after removing from pans.
