Instructions

  1. If broiling, preheat oven to broil; otherwise, prepare a hot grill.

  2. Combine marinade ingredients, pour over steaks, and refrigerate to marinate.

  3. Dry-fry 2 tablespoons of uncooked sticky rice until toasted; cool and grind into powder.

  4. Mix all dressing ingredients until sugar dissolves, then prepare salad greens and other ingredients.

  5. Grill steaks on a hot grill, turning once or twice, until pink in the center; alternatively, broil in the preheated oven for 5 to 7 minutes per side.

  6. While steak cooks, toss salad with dressing, adjusting taste with fish sauce or lime juice.

  7. Portion salad onto plates, thinly slice the cooked steak, and top each serving.
