Instructions

  1. Warm your grill and lightly brush with oil.

  2. Combine hoisin sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and chili.

  3. Slice eggplant into 1/4 inch-thick rounds.

  4. Coat eggplant slices with the prepared marinade.

  5. Grill marinated eggplant until grill marks appear, then flip and brush with remaining marinade.

  6. Continue grilling until the eggplant is tender when pierced.

  7. Serve hot, optionally garnished with fresh basil.
