Tex-Mex Beef and Biscuit Casserole

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and butter a 9-inch square baking dish.

  2. Brown ground beef with onion in a large skillet; drain. Stir in chiles, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and tomato sauce; simmer.

  3. Separate refrigerated biscuits into two layers each. Press 10 layers into the bottom of the prepared dish.

  4. In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup shredded cheese, sour cream, and egg. Remove the meat mixture from heat, then stir in the cheese-sour cream mixture.

  5. Spoon the meat mixture over the biscuit dough base.

  6. Top with the remaining 10 biscuit layers and sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheese.

  7. Bake for approximately 25 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown.
