Tahitian Poisson Cru (Marinated Raw Fish)

Instructions

  1. Dice the fish into 1/2-inch cubes, rinse, drain, and place in a large nonreactive bowl.

  2. Squeeze limes, pour the juice over the fish, mix thoroughly, and chill for 15 to 20 minutes.

  3. Thinly slice the onion and green pepper, cube the tomato, and deseed and thinly slice the cucumber.

  4. Drain some lime juice from the fish, then add the prepared vegetables and season with salt and pepper.

  5. Add the coconut milk 5 minutes before serving, and serve chilled.
