Preheat the oven to 275 F and prepare an ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan.

In a large bowl, beat egg whites with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.

Gradually add 1/4 cup of brown sugar at a time, continuing to beat until the mixture is stiff and glossy.

Fold in the melted butter, then gently fold in the nuts until fully coated.

Evenly spread the coated nuts on the prepared pan.

Bake for about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, until the meringue is dry and nuts are crunchy.

Let cool in the pan, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

Store the cooled nuts in covered containers at room temperature for up to two months.
