Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with foil and spraying with cooking spray.

  2. Spread pecans on the baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes, stirring every 3-4 minutes, until fragrant.

  3. While pecans toast, melt butter in a large microwave-safe bowl, then stir in brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, cayenne, and cinnamon.

  4. Remove toasted pecans from the oven, pour them into the coating mixture, and stir until evenly coated.

  5. Return coated pecans to the baking sheet in an even layer.

  6. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, stirring every 3-4 minutes; let cool completely on the baking sheet until crisp.

  7. Once cool, break the nuts apart or coarsely chop as desired.
