Sweet and Sour Crockpot Spareribs
Sweet and sour pork spareribs, slow-cooked for 10 to 12 hours, deliver a tender, glazed meal with minimal effort.

Combine brown sugar and flour in a large saucepan. Stir in water, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, ketchup, tomato paste, honey, Dijon mustard, ginger, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir over medium heat until boiling, then simmer 5 to 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Layer ribs and chopped onions in a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker, spooning sauce over each layer.

Cover and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours or High for 5 to 6 hours, until ribs are very tender, glazed, and reach at least 160 F.

Transfer ribs to a broiler pan. Brush with some slow cooker glaze and broil until dark brown. While ribs broil, boil some remaining sauce in a small saucepan until thickened and reduced. Serve ribs with the reduced sauce.
