Sugarplum Christmas Candy

Instructions

  1. Combine 1/2 cup chopped dates, 1/2 cup chopped toasted walnuts, 1/4 cup chopped dried cranberries, 1/4 cup chopped prunes, and 1/4 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts in a food processor; pulse a few times.

  2. Add 2 tablespoons cherry preserves, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves, then pulse until the mixture binds and holds together when squeezed, retaining a coarse texture.

  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in 1/2 cup granulated sugar to coat.
