Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.

  2. Brown ground sausage in a large skillet, breaking it up, then remove and set aside, leaving drippings.

  3. Add butter and olive oil to the skillet; sauté onion, garlic, celery, salt, and pepper over medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes until softened.

  4. Combine sautéed vegetables, cooked sausage, and bread cubes in a large bowl.

  5. Whisk egg, parsley, thyme, sage, poultry seasoning, and chicken broth; pour this mixture over the bread cubes.

  6. Grease two muffin tins, then fill each well tightly with the stuffing mixture.

  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until browned and the internal temperature reaches 160 F.

  8. Cool muffins in tins for a few minutes before removing and serving.
