Stuffed Mushrooms With Italian Sausage

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Oil a shallow baking dish with 1 tablespoon olive oil.

  2. Clean mushrooms, detach and finely chop stems. Position mushroom caps in the oiled dish.

  3. Crumble Italian sausage, removing casings if necessary.

  4. In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil; cook sausage with chopped stems until no longer pink, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

  5. Combine parsley and Parmesan cheese into the sausage mixture, adding 1-2 teaspoons olive oil if dry.

  6. Fill mushroom caps with this mixture. Carefully pour hot water into the pan, avoiding the stuffed mushrooms.

  7. Bake for approximately 20 minutes until mushrooms are tender and filling is heated through. Garnish with fresh parsley.
