Instructions
-
Microwave a 1-2 pound head of green cabbage on high for 14 minutes, then cool and peel the leaves.
-
Fry 2 bacon slices until crisp, cool, chop, and set aside with drippings.
-
Combine 1 pound ground beef, 1 pound ground pork, 1 beaten egg, 1/4 cup milk, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1 cup cooked rice, 1 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper; mix thoroughly.
-
Place 1/4 cup of meat mixture on each cabbage leaf, roll burrito-style, and arrange seam-side down in a crock pot.
-
In a separate bowl, mix 15 oz tomato sauce, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp brown sugar, and 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce.
-
Pour the sauce over the rolls, add bacon and drippings. Cook on low for 7-9 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until meat reaches 160 F.
-
Serve rolls with the remaining tomato sauce spooned over them.
