Strawberry Shortcake Made With Pound Cake

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mash half of the sliced strawberries.

  2. Stir in the remaining sliced strawberries, then sweeten or tarten with sugar or lemon juice to taste. Chill the berry mixture.

  3. Beat cream with confectioners' sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl until whipped.

  4. Slice pound cake into six pieces and place on serving plates.

  5. Top each pound cake slice with strawberry mixture and a dollop of whipped cream.

  6. Garnish with fresh mint or a whole strawberry.
