Stovetop Asparagus Recipe

Instructions

  1. Wash the asparagus and snap off the tough ends.

  2. Place asparagus in a shallow saucepan, cover with water by 1/2 inch, and bring to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.

  4. Drain thoroughly, return to the pan, and add butter.

  5. Heat over low until the butter melts and coats the asparagus.

  6. Season with salt and pepper, then serve.
