Instructions

  1. Combine salt, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, thyme, white pepper, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl. Rub this spice mixture thoroughly into the chicken drumsticks.

  2. Place the spiced chicken in a resealable bag and refrigerate overnight.

  3. The next day, spray a 4-quart slow cooker with nonstick spray. Layer onions at the bottom, then add the chicken.

  4. Whisk together honey, brown sugar, and ketchup in a separate bowl; drizzle this sauce over the chicken.

  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 12 hours until the chicken is very tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165 F.

  6. Serve the drumsticks immediately.
