Instructions

  1. To prepare steamed cabbage, choose between microwave or stovetop methods.

  2. For microwave cooking: Place 1/4 thinly sliced small cabbage in a microwave-safe dish with 1/4 inch of water, cover, and microwave on high for 8 minutes, rotating halfway if needed. Drain, then stir in 2 tablespoons unsalted butter and kosher salt before serving.

  3. For stovetop steaming: Start boiling water in a large pot with a steam basket or colander set just above the water line.
