Instructions

  1. In a medium nonstick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Sauté sliced onion until softened and lightly browned.

  2. Toss 1/2 pound shaved steak with 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.

  3. Remove onion to a plate. Increase heat to high, add steak in an even layer; cook 2 minutes without stirring, then stir until fully cooked. Transfer steak to the plate with onion; cover.

  4. Toast 2 bagels and spread 1 tablespoon butter over the 4 halves.

  5. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons butter in the pan over low heat. Add half of the beaten eggs and 1/4 teaspoon salt; cook, gently stirring, to create an omelet.

  6. Fold the cooked omelet in half twice and top with 2 slices American cheese. Repeat for the remaining eggs, salt, and cheese.

  7. Assemble sandwiches by dividing steak and onion onto two bagel halves, topping with eggs and cheese, then covering with the remaining bagel halves. Serve with steak sauce as desired.
