Steak and Cheese Sandwiches

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler.

  2. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Cook sliced onion and pepper until wilted; remove and set aside.

  3. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in the skillet. Cook steak, stirring, for about 2 minutes until desired doneness; season with salt and pepper.

  4. Place toasted sub roll bottoms on a baking sheet and spread with mayonnaise.

  5. Layer the roll bottoms with steak, then the cooked onion and pepper, and a slice of cheese.

  6. Broil until the cheese is melted. Cover with sub roll tops and serve.
