St. Louis-Style Ribs

St. Louis-style ribs are prepared with a custom rub and a flavorful barbecue sauce, ideal for any cookout.

Instructions

  1. Prepare a smoker or charcoal grill to maintain 225 F for 4 to 6 hours.

  2. Remove the membrane from the underside of the ribs and trim any loose fat or meat.

  3. Combine the rib rub ingredients in a bowl; apply the rub to both sides of the ribs.

  4. Place the ribs onto the prepared smoker or grill, utilizing indirect heat if grilling.

  5. While the ribs cook, combine all sauce ingredients in a pan, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently.

  6. Remove the sauce from heat and allow it to cool.

  7. Cook ribs until the internal temperature reaches 175 F, then brush generously with the barbecue sauce.

  8. After about 10 minutes, turn the ribs and continue brushing with sauce throughout the remaining cooking process.

  9. Once ribs are fully cooked, remove from heat, carve, and serve.
