Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and grease a 9x13x2-inch baking pan.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown ground beef with onion and mushrooms, stirring frequently. Drain excess fat.

  3. Stir in flour, basil, oregano, 1 teaspoon salt, and black pepper; cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  4. Gradually incorporate milk, tomato sauce, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring, then remove from heat.

  5. In a separate bowl, combine egg with 1/2 teaspoon salt, well-drained spinach, and ricotta cheese.

  6. Layer the baking dish: start with one-third of the meat mixture.

  7. Next, add half of the lasagna noodles, then cover with the entire spinach-ricotta mixture.

  8. Add another third of the meat mixture, then all of the mozzarella cheese.

  9. Top with the remaining noodles and the rest of the meat mixture.

  10. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top.

  11. Bake for 40-45 minutes, then let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
