Instructions

  1. Start boiling a large pot of water for spaghetti.

  2. Once boiling, salt the water and add spaghetti, stirring to prevent clumping.

  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet. If using, toast breadcrumbs until browned, about 3 minutes.

  4. Add minced garlic; cook until fragrant and lightly colored, about 1 minute, avoiding overcooking.

  5. Stir in chile pepper and parsley, if using; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  6. When pasta is al dente, drain it, reserving some cooking water.

  7. Transfer spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat. If dry, add reserved pasta water as needed. Serve.
