Spiced Tea Hot Toddy

A warming winter drink, this hot toddy features black tea, lemon, whole spices, honey, and a spirit like rum, whiskey, or brandy.

Instructions

  1. Combine water and spices in a small pot and heat until just below boiling; then remove from heat.

  2. Add tea leaves and steep for 4 minutes.

  3. Strain the liquid into a large mug.

  4. Stir in honey.

  5. Gently pour your chosen spirit (brandy, rum, or whiskey) over the back of a spoon to float on top.

  6. Squeeze lemon juice into the mug, and drop the wedge in for stronger flavor if desired.
