Spiced Beef Hand Pies Recipe

Preheat the oven to 400 F.

In a food processor, combine flour, butter, baking powder, salt, and fresh thyme until crumbly, then slowly add ice water until dough forms. Wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

While the dough chills, brown ground beef with onions, garlic, cumin, garlic powder, fresh thyme, oregano, cayenne, black pepper, and salt in a sauté pan. Stir in beef stock and red wine, cook for 5 minutes, then add parsley and cool.

Roll pastry to a 10-inch round, cut 8 (4-inch) circles. Spoon cooled beef mixture onto 4 circles, top with the remaining circles, and crimp edges with a fork. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until light golden brown.
