Spanish Fried Almonds (Almendras Fritas)
Almendras fritas are a popular fried almond tapas dish, best served warm or at room temperature.

Instructions

For the Frying Pan Method:

1. Heat olive oil in a medium nonstick frying pan over medium heat.

2. Add almonds and sauté, stirring frequently, until golden brown.

3. Remove almonds to paper towels to drain excess oil.

4. Sprinkle with salt and serve.

For the Microwave Oven Method:

1. Arrange blanched almonds on a large plate, leaving the center empty, then drizzle with olive oil and stir to coat.

2. Microwave for 90 seconds at 750 watts. Stir almonds and microwave for another 90 seconds.

3. Sprinkle with salt and serve.
