Spaghetti Sauce With Italian Sausage

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, add Italian sausages with 1/2 to 1 inch of water. Bring to a boil, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.

  2. Drain the sausages, remove, and slice thinly.

  3. Brown the sliced sausages in the same pan, adding a small amount of oil if necessary.

  4. Drain excess grease, then add 2 tablespoons olive oil, onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms to the pan; cook until onions are tender, stirring frequently.

  5. Stir in all remaining ingredients except Parmesan cheese. Cook over medium-low heat for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

  6. Adjust sauce thickness by adding water and reducing heat if needed.

  7. Serve with hot cooked spaghetti and Parmesan cheese.
