Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F and grease a 12-cup muffin pan.

  2. In one bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.

  4. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until just combined.

  5. Fill muffin cups two-thirds full.

  6. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
