Sour Cream Oatmeal Cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.

  2. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Cream butter with sugars, then beat in egg and vanilla.

  4. Coat the dates or raisins with 1/4 cup of the sifted dry ingredients.

  5. Stir the remaining sifted ingredients and sour cream into the creamed mixture, then fold in the coated dates and oats.

  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto lightly greased baking sheets.

  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

  8. Cool cookies on the pans for 30 seconds, then transfer to racks to cool completely.

  9. Store in a tightly covered container, separating layers with plastic wrap or waxed paper.
