Soft Pretzels From the Bread Machine

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 475 F and start boiling 2 quarts of water in a large saucepan.

Place the first five ingredients into your bread machine and run the dough cycle.

Once the cycle completes, turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, let it rest, and prepare two salted baking sheets with a rack over a third baking sheet.

Divide the dough into 12 to 14 pieces, roll each into a 15-inch rope, and shape into pretzels by forming a U, crossing and twisting ends, then folding up and pinching to seal.

Add baking soda to the boiling water, reduce to a simmer, and immerse 2 to 3 pretzels at a time for about 2 minutes.

Using a slotted spoon, transfer the pretzels to the cooling rack, sprinkle with kosher salt, then move them to the prepared salted baking sheets.

Bake for 8 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
