Soft Naan Bread Recipe With Za'atar Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large bowl, combine nigella seeds, yeast, baking powder, and flour; mix well.

  3. Warm 1 cup of milk in a small saucepan until lukewarm.

  4. In a separate bowl, combine egg, yogurt, milk, and melted ghee, then add this liquid mixture to the dry ingredients.

  5. Mix until dough forms, then knead until elastic. Divide dough into 8 equal parts.

  6. Shape each part into an oval and flatten to 1/2-inch thick.

  7. Place 2-3 loaves on a baking sheet; bake on the middle rack for 15 minutes. If tops are not browned, move to the top rack for 2 minutes.

  8. Remove from oven, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with za'atar. Keep warm and repeat with remaining dough.

  9. Serve warm with hummus or tzatziki.
