Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl, beat melted butter with brown and granulated sugars until smooth, then beat in vanilla extract, a whole egg, and an egg yolk.

Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until blended.

Fold in the chocolate chips, then cover the bowl and chill for 1 hour.

Scoop dough mounds (using a 1 1/2-tablespoon scoop) onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned and tops remain pale.
